tube Jobs in Mörlenbach are nothing new at PAPUREX. Next year, the tubing manufacturer from the Odenwald region will celebrate its 45th anniversary. And in addition to its tasks, customer base, and productivity, the company’s workforce has also grown. It all began in 1981 with a vision and a handful of energetic individuals. Today, around 50 people are employed at the Mörlenbach site.
Long-term jobs lead to various anniversaries
In July 2025, three colleagues celebrated their anniversaries at PAPUREX. The first of these is Kerstin, who started her job in Mörlenbach in July 2015. Since then, she has contributed to various administrative positions thanks to her versatility. Her main area of responsibility is now in the human resources department, but that doesn’t prevent her from taking on responsibilities in other areas as well. Kerstin is celebrating her 10th anniversary!
Another employee celebrating her anniversary, who also started her job in July, is Doris. However, she joined the company 10 years earlier and has now been with us for 20 years. Like Kerstin, Doris has held many positions. She started in shipping and worked her way through numerous departments to her current position in the sales team.
With Monika, known as Moni, there was even a third colleague to celebrate in June. She started her career at PAPUREX at the same time as Doris and has therefore also been with the company for 20 years. Moni stands out above all for her versatility in tube finishing. Thanks to her broad range of skills, she has made the implementation of several tube developments for customer projects possible in the first place.
But the list doesn’t end there. Back in May, our long-standing team member Antonia celebrated 25 years with the company. She joined us in Mörlenbach in May 2000 and has thus helped shape more than half of PAPUREX’s history.
Loyal employees and secure jobs
The anniversaries listed above are no exception at PAPUREX. Around 24% of the workforce, or just under one in four employees, has been with the PAPUREX team for more than 20 years. Another third, or 33%, have been employed at the Mörlenbach site for between 10 and 20 years. The bottom line is that 57% of colleagues have been in their jobs for more than 10 years.
This loyalty among the workforce is by no means a given. According to a study by the Federal Statistical Office on the length of employment with the current employer, in 2024 only 41.7% of employees nationwide had been in their current job for more than 10 years. PAPUREX is thus well above the average!
There are two reasons why jobs at the tubing manufacturer in Mörlenbach are so long-term. On the one hand, the company’s loyal employees deserve special mention. Large parts of the team identify with PAPUREX and therefore enjoy continuing to contribute their commitment even after many years in the same position.
On the other hand, taking responsibility for secure jobs has been part of the company’s DNA for a long time. In addition to the fact that the workforce enjoys numerous benefits such as free gym membership, company pension plans, and bicycle leasing, one factor is decisive: in the company’s nearly 45-year history, there has never been a layoff for operational reasons. This is something that distinguishes family-run medium-sized companies like PAPUREX from many large corporations.
